Purpose of Read to Succeed Summer Reading Program

​

To provide students who are significantly below third-grade reading proficiency with the opportunity to receive quality, intensive instructional services and support.​

96 instructional hours • Qualified Teachers and Coaches • Student-Teacher Ratio 10:1

 • Pre- and Post- Assessment Tools • Classroom Environment and Instruction

• Library Media Center • Community Partnerships

Participation  extended to students in other grade

Students are taught strategies to assist them in understanding the meaning of what they have read and strategies to help them decode print

Materials are based on topics which are high interest to students and prepare them for the next grade’s substance

Reading exposure is fun and enjoyable for  all students constructing  upon the interests of each students in the program  

Promote the belief in students that they can be successful readers and writers
